Frequently-asked questions > rack cards

Q.  What are they?

A.  When you buy a newspaper from the vending machine, there's a big placard below the paper window.  At the newsstand, above the stack of papers, there's a sign on the wire rack.  The signs are called rack cards in the newspaper industry.

Q.  How were they distributed?

A.  The newspaper sends rack cards to retail establishment that sell the daily paper, and inserts them into the bottom panel of the honor boxes.

Q.  What makes them so special?

A.  They aren't offered for sale in any retail capacity, and their size (17" by 11") and composition (durable cardboard) make them desirable items for collecting and display.

Q.  How do you ship them?

A.  We ship all rack cards flat, with plenty of cardboard for protection.  We send them U.S. Mail.
